P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Keys to the Kingdom: Binding & Loosing Pt.2

Nov 7, 2013   //   by Tina McCrea   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Keys to the Kingdom: Binding & Loosing Pt.2

By Elder Paula Burch & Pastor Tina McCrea

Matthew 16:19

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Definitions according to the Greek:

Keys: symbolize authority to open. used to unlock a door or gate, hence the means to entrance, or power to keep in, to denote power and authority of various kinds, close(1), closed(1), closes(1), locked(1), shut(11), shuts(1).

Bindof arrest and imprisonment bind, tie up, “to wrap up” to tie, fasten.  “to forbid” and “to permit.” , to bind, fasten with chains, to throw into chains.

EarthA definite land which is not named, the earth as a standing place,

Boundrestrict, “tie” four times, “knit” once, “be in bonds” once, and “wind” once.  to bind tie, fasten. fasten with chains, to throw into chains, to take possession of, to stop one from being what they should be.

Loose: “unloose,” destroy, dissolve, break down,

Loosed:  destroy, dissolve, break up, to loose one bound, to unbind, release from bonds, set free.

Statement: Jesus passed on to His church His authority or control to bind or loose on earth. Jesus Christ has given us the keys to the kingdom, which means that He has given us His kingdom power to stop evil and release God’s power on different situations in life.  In other words, Peter’s pronouncement of “binding” or “loosing” is dependent upon what heaven has already willed, rather than earth’s giving direction to heaven. “Bind” in this verse is translated from the Greek word deo, (deh’-o), which means also to be in bonds; knit, tie, fasten, confine, join together like husband and wife, wind. “Loose” in this verse is from the Greek word luo, which also means to break (up), destroy, dissolve, (un-) loose, melt, put off.

In Biblical times, binding and loosing refers to what was permitted or not permitted. Most Christian interprets the passage to mean we are to bind demons or “negative” things.  I suggest that if we pray this verse according to the Greek language and the original meaning of the word, when we pray I bind poverty and I loose prosperity, we are in essence praying I knit, I tie, I fasten, I confine  poverty and I break up, destroy, dissolve, melt, put off prosperity.  If we pray I bind sickness and disease and I loose healing and wholeness, then we are praying I knit to, I tie, I fasten, I confine, I join together like husband and wife sickness and disease.

As stated above we are to bind what heaven has already willed – therefore I suggest that if the Word of God suggest that Jesus willed that by his stripes we are healed then we should knit, fasten, tie, confine, wind healing to us.  Likewise the Bible clearly indicate that we are to ‘LOOSE” sickness, disease, evil, infirmities because it has already been willed in heaven.  Note:  in Luke 13:12 -Jesus said you are loosed from your infirmity – He did not bind her to the infirmity – He loosed her.

Luke 13:10-12

And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

In Job 1: God had a conversation with Satan.  The Bible says that when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, Satan came with them.  Then the Lord asked Satan where did he come from? Satan said from walking up and down in the earth.  Now in this text God did not will Satan to be bond.  He did not say I bind you Satan. Rather he permitted/allowed Satan access to one of his most faithful servants.  According to I Peter 5:8, Satan is still walking around like as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  In this text the Bible did not instruct us to bind the enemy rather according to I Peter 5:9, he states we are to resist him and stay firm in our faith.

Job 1:6-7: Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.  7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

I Peter 5:8-9:  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Again in Mark 1:24-25 when Jesus came into the presence of the man with unclean spirit He did not say I bind you unclean spirit.  Rather he said be quiet and come out.  Jesus did not demonstrate that we should knit, fasten, tie or even confine unclean spirit.  He told the spirits to come out- in other words, Jesus broke (up), destroyed, dissolved, un- loose, put off the hold this un-clean spirit had on this man.

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

Matthew 8:28-32 again, we find Jesus in the presence of two people possessed with devils, when the devils ask if they could go into the swine, Jesus “did not” say I bind you devil,  rather Jesus permitted (allowed) the devil to go into the swine.

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.  29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?  30And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.  31So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.  32And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

I contend that whenever the Bible talked about someone being bound, it was always something negative that had them in bondage and Jesus always loosed them from that which was negative.  Therefore if we pray to bind something — binding should encourage us to draw or tie the wonderful things of God to ourselves in the same manner as God had commanded in Old Testament scriptures.

  • Deut11:18 –     Bind God’s Word upon our hands.
  • Proverbs 3:3    Bind kindness and truth to our necks.
  • Proverbs 7:2-4 Bind  the Commandments and teachings to our fingers

I also contend that whenever the Bible talked about something being loosed, he loosed negative things that had us bound.

  • Isaiah 58:6       Wickedness was loosed.
  • Jeremiah 40:4- Chains are loosed
  • Luke  13:12     Infirmities were loosed.

Matthew 16:19 suggests that those things that have already been willed by God in the kingdom of heaven are imitated by the Church on earth.  “Binding” or “Loosing” is dependent upon what heaven has already willed.   We do not have authority to give direction to heaven Also note in this test there is no reference to the binding or loosing of persons, yet we often say or hear others binding and loosing people.  This passage speaks exclusively of things –ho’sa (3745) in the Greek means whatever not whoever.  Believers can never make conclusive decisions about things, but we can confirm those decisions which have already been made by God Himself in the general context of His kingdom both on earth and in heaven.

P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Blessings of Wealth Prayer

Financial Prayer for Success and Provision

Dear Lord,

I come before You in the name of Your son, Jesus, and I praise You, thank you that you are Jehovah Jireh, my God, and provider. I thank you for the many ways you have provided for me and my family. Thank you that You desire that we would prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper. Help me to prosper my soul in Your Word and to listen to your instructions and acquire divine wisdom. Thank You that Your blessings bring wealth and You add no sorrow to it as You fill our treasuries for Your glory. Your gifts are better than the purest gold, Your wages better than sterling silver. I ask for wisdom and Godly counsel so that I can work wisely, and prosper in all that I do, and be satisfied and fulfilled in life.

Lord, You have said that you will show me a way out of my problems. I ask for that now.  Forgive me where I have been fearful, greedy, or foolish in my work and my finances. Help me to have integrity and wisdom and to persevere in righteousness. Forgive me for idolatry to the things of this world and help me to love You more. I ask that You mercifully restore my losses. I choose to walk in the paths of righteousness & justice, and to love and honor You, Oh Lord.

Dear Lord, I confess and declare that I will trust in You and lean not to my own understanding for you have said that You perfect the things that concern me.  You even give to Your children as we sleep.  Lord, I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. I will praise you for the wonderful things you do. I will not throw away my confidence in you, Lord.  My hope is in You and I will persevere and receive Your promises in my life.  I will honor and serve you all the days of my life.

I chose to be a cheerful giver and to be generous for that is Your heart, and you have said that a generous man will prosper. I will give ten percent of my income to You, Lord, and I will watch the windows of Heaven open and pour out a blessing just as You have said. Give me Your heart for the poor that I would joyfully give offerings and gifts to those in need. Thank You that as I give, it will be given unto me.

Thank you that I am like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water and whatever I do will prosper by your grace because I belong to You, and You take pleasure in the prosperity of Your servants.  You give me the ability to produce wealth for your kingdom without shame or sorrow.  If you are for me, who can be against me?  You are awesome and I am humbled by Your love and grace.

I am thankful that Your love for me endures forever and Your plans for me are always for good and not for calamity.  Thank You for Your great and precious promises that I can inherit through faith and patience.  I am so grateful that you are at work within me to cause me to desire and to do your will.  I commit my work, my giving, and my finances to You, and ask that You cause my thoughts to become agreeable to your will so that I will succeed for Your glory.

I thank You, Jesus, that on the cross You set me free from the curses of the law (Deuteronomy 28) of sickness, poverty, and eternal death. In Your name, I receive that these things are broken off my life. Show me how to walk out of the habits of them. I receive the blessings of health, prosperity and eternal life that are mine through Your shed blood on the cross. I thank you, Lord, that You will reveal the things that are unseen and You will show me the way to prosperity and success as I honor You.  I love you, Lord.  Your grace is truly amazing and all the glory is Yours.  In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Intimacy with God (Pt.4) FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD!

Oct 25, 2013   //   by Tina McCrea   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Intimacy with God (Pt.4) FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD!

Intimacy with God = Friendship with God

friendofgod (1)

“Abraham, His Friend Forever” (2 Chronicles 20:7).

“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

And he was called the Friend of God” (James 2:23).

What Does it Mean to Have A Relationship with God!

Relate/Relationship: To relate to someone is to tell them all the truth about yourself. A relationship can be developed through an event, circumstance, which brings into or establishes an association or connection that brings about a social or sympathetic relationship with a person or thing. In order to have a relationship, one must have a connection, association, or involvement with someone.  Relationships are connections between persons by blood or marriage. A relationship is an emotional or other personal connection between people.

Do you tell God all the truth about you and your life’s situations? Have you had an encounter or experience with God that has brought about a close connection and association with God? Do you have an emotional or personal connection with God?

If you can’t answer yes to all these questions, you need to find out why, because God desires you and he wants a close connection of intimacy with you! We are related to God first by spiritual blood connection & DNA. You are a part of God because he made/created you into his image and into his likeness. You become connected to God a second time through spiritual DNA when you accept His Son-Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Jesus and salvation is the bridge that connects us to the Father!

Our Relationship with God is of the Highest Priority!

Salvation is the beginning to having a relationship with God so we can be intimate with Him, but it is not the totality of it… it takes commitment, longsuffering, and dedication (time) to be intimate with God! Will you make the sacrifice needed to be intimate with God?

There Are Three (3) Types of Relationships You Can Have With God:

  1. FAN

The first level of relationship with God is surface and takes not real commitment. If you are a FAN then you just like God for what he can do for you. There is no real sacrifice on your part. A FAN is only intrigued by God, but not invested into a real relationship with God. Don’t settle to only be a Fan of God, he should be more to you than like your favorite sport’s team that you only root for when they are winning and making you feel and look good. There is no real depth to your relationship at FAN level. FANS don’t have or invest into intimacy; they only stay at the intrigued level.

FANS of God are the equivalent of Facebook Friends!

The second level of relationship with God is a little deeper than a fan because you are actually a Follower of God. Followers check-in and they do sacrifice, but they still bold back and they don’t fully commit and sacrifice their all to have intimacy with God. Followers are only interested and not fully invested into the relationship. Followers always have a Plan B just in case it doesn’t work out. Followers have not given themselves completely and totally over to God. They still have other longings that pull them away from God.

Followers of God are the equivalent of Twitter Followers!

The third level of relationship with God is the most connected and deepest level there is, A Friend! A friend of God has gone through the worst yet they are still in love with God and committed to serving him as if life has been a bed of roses. Friends are Invested into Intimacy with God at any cost. They make intimacy a daily habit and not an occasion. Friends have made a covenant with God and not a contract with God like that of Fans & Followers.

Friends understand that you can only know God and be intimate with the Father through covenant, which is the highest level of commitment. Friends understand that their relationship with God is like that of a Covenant of Marriage. Just as in any marriage, you must Constantly Reconnect… it is a Spiritual Marriage… being familiar with God takes time, patience, and truth!

A Friend of God Makes Marriage Vows to the Lord:

“From this Day Forward, I am a Friend of God… For Better or for Worse… In Sickness and in Health….For Richer or Poorer… Til Death, I Am Friend of God!”

Daily, Enjoy God, Encounter God, & Engage God!

It’s not Religion, it’s RELATIONSHIP!

P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Intimacy with God Pt.3

Oct 24, 2013   //   by Tina McCrea   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on P-90X #Prayerfor90Days Intimacy with God Pt.3

Intimacy with God = Relationship with God

In order to have Intimacy with God, You Must See Your Need for God.

An intimate relationship with God will cause you to have more intimacy & joy with yourself, your life, and other relationships… until you love God right, you cannot love anyone else right, not even yourself!

Need: An essential requirement or duty, or obligation, an urgent want as of something required, a condition or situation in which something is required or wanted.

God should be an urgent want in your life, you should require that your life will involve God in every aspect. The only way this can be achieved is if you surrender completely. We were designed to fellowship with God, and it is the greatest pleasure our souls will ever know on earth. Ask the Lord to draw you closer to Him. If you have been too busy or distracted to dedicate time on a daily basis, pray for the grace to make fellowship with Him a priority. Wait on the Lord, and He will fill you with incredible joy in His presence.

God knows you because he created you… Your First Birth was His Choice… but does God know you through your Second Birth (your rebirth, being born again)? God knows you from the standpoint of two (2) ways: 1. Intimately through His Son Jesus Christ & 2. Through Your works.

Does God Know You?  Do You Know God?

Do you make yourself Available for Him to know?

Knowing God Through His Son Jesus Christ:

“No One Can Come to the Father Except by Me.”

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus is our access to intimacy with God. You can’t have or know God without first surrendering to Jesus. Jesus is one with the Father and He desires us to be one with Him also.

John 10:30

I and My Father are one.

John 17:21-22

That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.

Knowing God Through Your Works:

Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV)

I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

We cannot know God and our works not be in line with God’s will. If what you do is not in line with God’s will it is iniquity (outside of the will of God). There is No Will Outside the Will of God!

How to Be Close to God:

·         Confess Your Sins

·         Give God Adoration, Thanksgiving, & Praise

·         Sit Silently daily in the Presence of God

The word Know is defined as to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty, to have established or fixed in the mind or memory, to be cognizant or aware of something. To know means to be acquainted with (a thing, place, person, etc.), as by sight, experience, or report, to understand from experience or attainment, and to have a familiarity or grasp of, as through study or experience.

God has to be known beyond your sensory feelings, but you must commit to being acquainted with Him! It is in knowing Him that you will trust Him! Knowing God will not always be a honeymoon or euphoric experience. Many times like Job, you will really know the many faces, sides, and names of God through the vicissitudes of life.

Romans 10:17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The faith that you need to know God and stay committed to Him comes from you Listening & Hearing the Voice of God! You hear to understand, but you Listen in order to obey that whichhas been said. So if you feel that you don’t know God, is it because you don’t Listen to Him? Many of us hear His voice, but a lot of times we don’t obey. Meaning- we do not have corresponding actions to what we have just heard!

We learned earlier this week that God has already made the first steps in knowing us, so today, it is our turn to make our move. You move when you are committed to listening and obeying God. So, our first step is to decide to be intimate and have a committed and constant relationship with Him!

If you ever think you have come to the end of God and that you know all there is to know, then you will be surprised to find that you have not even learned a tenth of Who God is. In all honesty, it is impossible in our sinful and mortal beings to know God fully as we will know Him in our eternal resting place in our glorified heavenly bodies (if we have made Jesus our eternal hope and Savior). That is why John 3:16 states, “that if we believe in Him, then we will not perish, but have everlasting life.” It takes eternal and everlasting life to know God fully. He is time in and out of time, He was there when there was no beginning (before there ever was anything to be) and He will be there in the end!

God is so Grand that He is Unsearchable! So happy hunting in learning, knowing, growing, and encountering God forever!

Psalm 145:3

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is Unsearchable.

Romans 11:33

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How Unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

“God Wants you to know Him, Desires for you to know Him fully, and Created you to Encounter, Experience, and Express Love with Him!”
